Polls open in Egypt in an hour. This story hit me hard this morning. Hoping for the best in that weird, vague, uncomfortable way you have to when you aren’t sure what the best is.
Happy birthday, Peter. Aside from The Snow Leopard, my favorite of his books is a lesser known title called Blue Meridian. Somewhere in there he writes about hearing a whale’s song for the first time, and how it feels to him as if its the sound of the beginning of life. The world would be a wiser and gentler place, he writes, if each of us started our day with that sound.
